hi all
today I want to talk a bit about a very trivial and funny topic-uncles
the reason for this post is that my uncle is staying at my house for 2 weeks. He's from england, and is a very interesting person
I think that i'll start off my post by talking about several types of uncles as seen in different books
i think i'll start with a scale-in my opinion, there are three different types of uncles, with many deviations from each one
first of all, there is the depressed, distant uncle. I think that a good example of this would be Mr. Craven, from Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden. This type of uncle is cold and doesn't really seem to care about his niece/nephew
| A picture i found online with the search "mr craven" |
| A picture of the Gardiners from one of the Pride and Prejudice movies(not sure which one though) |
i think that my uncle would be the last type of uncle. He is quirky, and although rather annoying, kind of funny. His rotund shape also makes him look kinda of like how I imagine a jolly old uncle look
please post any opinions about varying degrees of uncle-ness in the comment section! thanks!
